We are the data controller for this website. If you have a question about your data, email us and we'll answer within one month.
The short version
- We have no accounts, newsletter, comment forms or contact forms. We don't ask for your name or email.
- Ads are shown by Google AdSense. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked first, in a consent message from Google's certified consent tool, whether Google may use cookies for ads.
- Maps from Google only load if you tap "Tap to load map".
- Photos and page code are served from our own site, and text uses your device's built-in fonts. No Google Fonts, no tracking pixels, no analytics cookies.
What happens when you visit
Hosting. The site is delivered by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data (browser type, page requested, time) to deliver the page and protect the site against attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Advertising (Google AdSense). Google Ireland Limited shows ads on this site. With your consent, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show personalised ads and measure them. Without consent, Google can show only non-personalised or limited ads. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy rules on cookies). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the "Privacy & cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. More: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Maps. Maps are not loaded automatically. When you tap a map, it is loaded from Google, and Google receives your IP address and may set cookies. Legal basis: your consent, given by tapping the map. See Google's privacy policy. The "Open in Google Maps" links simply take you to Google's site or app.
Links to other sites. Source links, hotel websites and photo credits (Unsplash) go to other websites with their own privacy policies.
Transfers outside the EU
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both participate in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and use the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Because we don't collect names, emails or accounts, we usually hold no personal data that could identify you. Requests about ad cookies are best handled through the consent settings link or Google's ad settings.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in the EU country where you live.
